Essential Functions

• Knows understands and implements UAP Credit Philosophy, Policy and Procedure.
• Secures, either directly or through direct reports, financial information for new customers in order to make credit decision. 
• Reviews financial standing of businesses seeking to establish or maintain agricultural credit, analyzes financial statements, credit reports (if available), payment practices and decides on appropriate credit limit.
• Recommends credit limits for those accounts exceeding delegated authority.
• Communicates credit decisions to sales people and works with sales to adjust limits periodically in response to experience and changing conditions.
• Interacts directly with large customers to determine best credit management solutions.
• Works directly with customers as well as with salespeople to collect assigned past due accounts and resolve credit problems in accordance with company policy.
• Provides direction and monitoring as required to legal counsel in order to protect the Company’s interest in bankruptcy and collection proceedings.
• Provides accurate and reliable credit reports to management with special emphasis on recommending specific bad debt reserves.
• Interprets credit information for OC management and provides financial consultation on business issues.
• Reviews credit reports prepared for other agencies and references prepared for good credit customers.

• Keeps abreast of current agricultural trends and practices.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, or Ag related degree
• 5 plus years of practical ag-lending or commercial lending experience plus demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong integrity and business ethics.
• Advanced Excel and strong PC analytical skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated agricultural analytical skills.
• Willing to travel.
