Animal Husbandry Extension Specialist

Skills in stockmanship and animal husbandry need constant attention to ensure that everyone on the farm is getting the best out of cows and calves. We're looking for an animal husbandry specialist who has the know-how and people skills to work with farmers to ensure everyone on farm (cows and people) are a happy and effective team.

If you've got what it takes to apply your knowledge of animal husbandry and management to help farmers and have the skills to build effective partnerships with key stakeholders, you could be the champion we're after.

Whether you bring agricultural qualifications or farming experience to the role, it'll be complemented with a down-to-earth attitude and a practical hands-on approach. You'll be part of a great team and work closely with DairyNZ's farming system specialists, focussing on maintaining and enhancing animal husbandry on farm, while helping farmers improve profitability and sustainability. We need people with a passion for the dairy industry, with good stockmanship skills and a demonstrated ability in knowledge sharing and influencing. This is a challenging role, are you up to it?

Positions can be based in Hamilton, Lincoln, Invercargill, Taranaki, Rotorua and Palmerston North.
