Glycol/Glycerin Tech Service Rep – Decatur, IL
James R. Randall Research Center

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

A technical service position concentrated on bio-based propylene glycol, but a working knowledge of other ADM manufacturing processes and product lines will be essential.

Responsibilities:

Primary customer contact for all product technical related issues, i.e. product application, quality and regulatory requirements.
Develop, update, distribute and maintain technical product documents which meet customer, sales force, industry and regulatory needs and requirements.
Determine optimum disposition of non-conforming product (rejected, off spec) based on knowledge of quality parameters, product characteristics, customer needs and applications.
Represent ADM at industry related technical meetings and conferences.
Product stewardship representation for product regulatory, specification and quality issues.
Technical leadersihp for product packaging, labeling and certifications.

Qualifications:

Experience in tech services with both internal and external customers.
Experience with development of analytical methods and working in a lab environment.
Core function is to analyze, review and troubleshoot customer complaints.
Resolve product specification issues through brainstorming viable solutions.
Serve as the key entrusted advisor/liaison between customer, sales and operations.
Guide customers to successful incorporation of ADM product line into current process.
Possess knowledge base to gain customer trust and opportunities for further partnering.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science field or relevant equivalent applied technical services experience.
Strong desire and motivation to immediately impact a new product area with expertise and confidence.
Preferred In depth knowledge of propylene glycol and glycerin products and processes that will solidify customer trust and open opportunities for further business partnering.
Willing to become an expert in propylene glycol products.
Experienced technical aptitude to troubleshoot unique customer issues and challenges providing viable and timely solutions.
The ability to effectively review, analyze and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner is critical.
Position will require 25-30% travel to support extensive customer lab interaction.
The desired individual must assume the role of “expert” advisor while continually balancing the needs and parameters of customers, sales and operations.
A proven track record of lab safety with a continuous commitment to product quality is a must.
